HD Relay is a hosted live-camera streaming and distribution service operated by
Dotworkz Systems ("HD Relay", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains
what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to
the HD Relay portal at hdrelay.io and related subdomains.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Name, email address, and organization or site assignment for portal users.
- Authentication data needed to sign in to the portal.
Camera and streaming data
- Camera configuration you provide (names, locations, connection settings).
- Live video, recordings, and timelapse images captured from cameras you operate or are authorized to view.
- Operational logs and metrics used to keep streams healthy.
Information you choose to connect
- When you connect a third-party destination (such as YouTube, Facebook, or a custom RTMP endpoint), we store the credentials or tokens needed to publish your stream to that destination.
2. Google user data and the YouTube integration
HD Relay lets you publish your own camera streams to your own YouTube channel.
When you connect YouTube, Google asks you to grant HD Relay access using OAuth. We
request the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl,
which we use solely to:
- create and manage live broadcasts and live streams on the YouTube channel you authorize;
- start, stop, and rotate those broadcasts on your behalf so your camera stays live; and
- read back the broadcast/stream status to display it to you in the portal.
We store the OAuth refresh and access tokens, and basic channel identifiers
(channel ID, channel title), so the connection can run continuously without asking
you to sign in repeatedly. We do not request access to your Google contacts, email,
Drive, or any data unrelated to publishing your live stream.
Limited Use disclosure. HD Relay's use and transfer of information
received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the
Google API Services User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for
advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it to third parties except as
necessary to provide the live-streaming feature you requested, to comply with law,
or as part of a merger or acquisition.
3. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and secure the streaming service.
- To publish your streams to the destinations you connect.
- To provide support and communicate with you about the service.
- To diagnose problems and improve reliability.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- with the third-party destinations you explicitly connect (e.g., YouTube), in order to publish your stream;
- with infrastructure providers that host the service, under confidentiality obligations;
- when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Data retention and deletion
We retain account and configuration data for as long as your account is active.
Recordings and timelapse images are retained according to your plan's retention
window. You can disconnect a YouTube (or other) connection at any time from the
portal's Social Push page; doing so deletes the stored tokens for that connection.
You may also revoke HD Relay's access directly at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
To request deletion of your account data, contact us at the address below.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest, restrict
access to credentials and tokens, and monitor our systems. No method of transmission
or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Children's privacy
HD Relay is a business service and is not directed to children under 13, and we do
not knowingly collect their personal information.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by
updating the "Last updated" date above.
