Which cameras work with HD Relay? +
Any camera that speaks RTSP, ONVIF, or HLS — that's most modern IP cameras (Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink, Amcrest, Uniview, Bosch, etc.). You point HD Relay at the camera's stream URL and it handles the rest. No proprietary appliances or firmware required.
How is footage stored, and for how long? +
Recordings are stored on our cloud and accessed through the portal. Default retention is 7 days per camera with options up to 90 days. Retention is per-camera so you can keep critical zones longer. Detection event clips are stored separately and persist beyond the rolling window.
Is the data encrypted? +
Yes. All connections are HTTPS / TLS in transit. Cloud storage uses AES-256 server-side encryption at rest. Camera credentials are stored encrypted, never logged, and never exposed in API responses. Detection events and shared clips can additionally be PIN-protected.
Can I cancel anytime? Is there a contract? +
Month-to-month, no contract. Cancel from the portal anytime — billing stops at the end of the current cycle. We don't lock you into multi-year hardware leases like the legacy VMS vendors. Annual prepay is available at a discount if you want it.
Do you offer a free trial? +
Yes — a free trial is available, no credit card required. Add up to 5 cameras and try every feature including embedded players, RTMP push, and the mobile app. AI detection is in beta — contact us for early access. Contact us to start →
Can I white-label HD Relay for my clients? +
Absolutely — that's one of our core features. Per-client logo, brand color, custom domain, and embed players that carry your branding through. Resellers, security companies, and property managers use the same platform under their own name. No partner-program approval needed.
What kind of bandwidth / hardware do my cameras need? +
Most 1080p cameras at typical bitrates (~2 Mbps each) work fine on standard business broadband. We have a full IT requirements page covering ports, firewall rules, and bandwidth guidance you can share with your IT team or installer.
Do I need to install any software on my computer? +
No. HD Relay runs entirely in the browser. No desktop client, no plugins, no Java, no ActiveX. Mobile users can optionally install the PWA as a native app for push notifications, but it's not required.
